Poznań: How to get to the Fan Zone and to the stadium?

Katarzyna Fertsch, translated by: Alicja Pilujska
How to get to Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone)? How to get to the stadium? Where to leave a car? Here is a guide which will tell you how not to get lost in Poznań. The most important tip: look around! The volunteers are there to help you.

Car parks for fans
There are two kinds of car parks prepared for fans in Poznań. Park&Walk - you may leave your car there and reach the destination on foot, and Park&Ride - after leaving your car you can take a bus or a tram to get to a specific place.
There are twelve Park&Walk car parks. Two for cars (on Zgorzelecka Street and Smoluchowskiego Street) and ten for coaches (all of them next to the stadium).

- Not only will car park workers indicate how to get to the stadium, but there will also be many volunteers on the way willing to provide any information needed - reassures Henryk Spychalski, the member of Town Council of Poznań.

Park&Ride car parks are situated a bit further from the stadium. They are available both for fans who will watch the matches at the stadium and those who are going to see the games in Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone). There are five Park&Ride car parks: next to M1 Shopping Center, near Tesco on Opieńskiego Street, on Circuit “Poznań", at Poznań International Fair and on Cmentarna Street. The cars are to be left there and fans are to go to the closest bus or tram stop.

Trams with stickers
- Every stop on fans’ way to the stadium or to Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) is visibly marked and can be easily recognized straightaway - says Henryk Spychalski.

How? If it is a stop of trams and buses going to Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) it has a huge picture symbolizing Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone). However, if a photo of the stadium can be seen at a stop, public transport offers a connection to the stadium.

- Such stickers are also visible on special buses and trams indicating their directions: Fan Zone or the stadium - explains Henryk Spychalski. - They are big and universal enough for everyone to understand them.

Which bus or tram to take?
On 10, 14 and 18 June (the days of football matches in Poznań) special trams and buses will be provided for fans.
Tram E30 will take fans from Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) to the stadium and car parks nearby. The tram E31 will be the connection between Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) and Ogrody (a district of Poznań). The tram E32 will run from Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) to Górczyn (a district of Poznań). These districts (Ogrody and Górczyn) will offer buses that will be taking fans to parking lots.

To get to Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) from the car park on Circuit “Poznań" you can take the bus E1. From the airport -the bus E2. The bus E3 will be shuttling from the car park on Smoluchowskiego Street to Górczyn (where you can take the tram E32). The bus E5 connects the stadium with Ogrody (where the tram E31 runs as well). You can get from the stadium to the city center by bus E7. It is within an easy walking distance from Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone). Two special bus lines will also link the stadium with Circuit “Poznań" (E10) and the stadium with the airport (E20).

Free buses
During Euro 2012 free buses will also be available, one of which will resemble a football pitch and take fans from the airport to the stadium and to the city center. Other buses called ContiBuses, will be circulating the city center daily. However, on match days they will be shuttling between Strefa Kibica (Fan Zone) and the stadium.
